Stars Spotting in L.A.

Serendipitously, while out shopping in downtown LA, I got a glimpse of the champions of the AMGEN Tour of California– the largest, stage race, Tour-de-France style, in America. At this point Lance Armstrong was already out of the race as he crashed in mountainous stage a few days earlier and the reigning champion, Levi Leipheimer (USA, Team RadioShack) was plagued by some mechanical problems and was having 22 seconds gap from second place, Zabriskie. It was only a few seconds when Michael Rogers (AUS, Team HTC-Columbia)and Dave Zabriskie (USA, Team Garmin-Transitions) zipped by. Rogers and Zabriskie went on to win the first and second place respectively. Levi Leipheimer, the three-year reigning champion ended up winning third place.
